Habit challenges: rising targets, points and a leaderboard

Turn a habit into a challenge. Set a target that grows every day, time it with a stopwatch, reward streaks with points and let clients compete on a board in your community.

How trainers can use it

01

A 30 day challenge for your whole community

Assign the same rising target to everyone who joins, and let the board at the top of the feed do the motivating.

02

Rehab and mobility work that progresses

A plank, a hang or a stretch hold that grows a few seconds a day gives clients a clear, safe progression between sessions.

03

Streaks worth protecting

Points that grow with the streak and a reward at the end give clients a reason not to skip day nine.

What changed

A habit with the same target every day gets easy, and then it gets boring. Habit challenges fix that. When you assign a habit, switch on Rising target and choose where it starts, where it ends and over how many days. A wall sit that starts at 20 seconds and ends at 60 over 30 days gets a little harder each day, and your client always sees today’s number.

Habits can now be linked to an exercise and timed. Clients who log a timed habit get a stopwatch instead of a counter. Every completed day earns points, streaks earn more, and you decide which rewards clients unlock along the way.

Step by step

How it works

  1. 01

    Make the habit

In Habits, create a habit with the Exercise category to link an exercise from your library. Choose Quantity with target, and set the unit to seconds to make it a timed habit clients log with a stopwatch.

  2. 02

Assign it with a rising target

Open the client’s Habits tab and assign the habit. Switch on Rising target and set From, To and the number of days. Each day on the calendar carries its own target, so you can see exactly where the client should be.

  3. 03

    Reward the streak

Under Habits, Streak rewards, decide how points are earned: one point for a completed day, and more points from the day a streak gets longer. Add rewards with your own picture and message that clients unlock at a points total.

Examples

Challenges trainers run

  • Wall sit20 to 60 seconds over 30 days, timed with the stopwatch
  • Dead hanga grip challenge that grows a few seconds a day
  • Daily stepsfrom 6,000 to 10,000 steps over four weeks
  • Watera streak habit with points and a reward at day seven
The challenge board sits at the top of your community feed. Switch it on in Community settings; clients choose to join it themselves.
