Everfit vs TrueCoach: Which Coaching App Should You Choose?

Everfit suits a coach who wants pricing that scales gradually with a growing roster, plus food journaling and an AI workout builder in the core price. TrueCoach suits a strength, bodybuilding or CrossFit-style coach who wants a branded app included from a mid-tier plan and is comfortable with fixed pricing bands under 50 clients.

In short
  • At 5 clients, Everfit Pro ($19/mo) undercuts TrueCoach Starter ($29.98/mo), and Everfit also offers a free Starter plan at that size.
  • At 30 clients, Everfit's nearest published step is 35 clients at $75/mo. TrueCoach forces a jump to its $164.98/mo Pro plan, since Standard tops out at 20 clients.
  • At 100 clients, Everfit publishes $140/mo on Pro. TrueCoach does not publish a price at all past 50 clients; it is "special pricing" via support.
  • TrueCoach includes a branded app from Standard ($69.98/mo) at no extra fee. Everfit charges a $75 one-time add-on for advanced branding, and a fully own-listed white-label app needs an Enterprise plan with a 500-client Studio minimum.
  • Everfit's meal plan builder is a separate $39/mo add-on. TrueCoach has no native meal-plan builder at all, delivering plans as documents instead.

Everfit vs TrueCoach price at 5, 30 and 100 clients

A capture of Everfit's pricing page from 22 September 2026, monthly view.

Everfit prices Pro by client step, rising gradually as your roster grows, while TrueCoach prices in three fixed bands capped at 5, 20 and 50 clients. That difference decides what happens the moment your roster sits between TrueCoach's bands.

5 clients
Everfit
$19/mo (Pro, 5-client step), or $0 on the free Starter plan
TrueCoach
$29.98/mo (Starter, 5-client cap)
30 clients
Everfit
~$75/mo (nearest published step: 35 clients)
TrueCoach
$164.98/mo (Pro, 50-client cap; Standard tops out at 20)
100 clients
Everfit
$140/mo (Pro, 100-client step)
TrueCoach
Not published; above 50 clients is special pricing via support

At 5 clients, Everfit is cheaper on Pro and has a free option TrueCoach does not. At 30 clients, Everfit has no published figure at that exact count, so the fairest comparison uses its nearest step at 35 clients, which still lands well under TrueCoach's forced jump to Pro.

At 100 clients the gap is starkest: Everfit publishes a real number, $140/mo, while TrueCoach stops publishing anything past 50 clients and sends larger rosters to support. See our Everfit pricing guide and TrueCoach pricing guide for the full client-step and band breakdowns.

Workout building

Everfit includes a workout builder, an advanced multi-week program builder from Pro, and an AI Workout Builder, backed by a library of 1,000+ exercises with custom video uploads. TrueCoach centres on a drag-and-drop builder with a larger stated library, 3,500+ professionally recorded demonstrations, aimed at strength, bodybuilding, CrossFit and physical therapy coaching.

TrueCoach's own pages give two different figures for its library, 3,000+ on one and 3,500+ on another, while Everfit consistently states 1,000+. If your programming leans on percentage-based strength work, a one rep max calculator pairs naturally with either builder.

Nutrition

Everfit bundles food journaling, macro tracking and basic meal plans into Pro, with MacroSnap AI photo logging and MyFitnessPal or Cronometer sync. A fuller Meal Plans and Recipe Books feature is a separate add-on from $39/mo, useful for a coach setting targets with a macro calculator.

TrueCoach has no native meal-plan builder at all: plans go out as documents through its Documents feature, with macro and calorie goals tracked through MyFitnessPal instead. A coach who wants nutrition built into the core app gets more from Everfit; one who wants only a light document-based touch may not miss it.

Check-ins and habits

Everfit offers forms and questionnaires for check-ins, habit coaching, tasks with reminders, and metrics and progress photos. TrueCoach includes custom daily, weekly or monthly habits and progress pictures on every plan, including its cheapest, plus milestone badges.

Both treat habit tracking as a core feature rather than an add-on, so the choice here comes down to how each app's check-in flow feels day to day rather than which one includes it. See our own approach in check-ins.

Payments

Everfit's Payments and Packages add-on starts at $9/mo and covers recurring subscriptions, one-time packages and automated program assignment, plus discount codes and HSA/FSA support; it does not disclose a per-transaction fee. TrueCoach Payments, built on Stripe, charges a flat 5 percent of the invoice total including tax, and only works for coaches in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

A flat monthly add-on and a percentage fee suit different volumes: the add-on costs the same regardless of how much you invoice, while a percentage grows with it. Run your own numbers before assuming either is cheaper for your business.

Branded app

TrueCoach includes its Custom-Branded Fitness App from Standard ($69.98/mo, 20 clients) at no extra fee, the most straightforward path of the two. Everfit's Custom Branding is a Pro feature, but Advanced Custom Branding (app icons, splash screens, custom themes) is a $75 one-time add-on, and a fully own-listed white-label app is Enterprise-only, requiring a minimum 500-client Studio plan.

If a branded app matters from a small roster, TrueCoach reaches it sooner and folds it into the subscription. For a fully independent store listing, Everfit's path runs through a much larger roster and a sales conversation.

Who is each one for?

Everfit suits a coach who wants a low entry cost, a genuinely free tier for a handful of clients, and food journaling and AI workout building bundled into the core price as the roster grows.

TrueCoach suits a strength, bodybuilding, CrossFit or physical therapy coach who wants a branded app and habit tracking included from a mid-tier price, and whose roster is comfortable staying inside a 5, 20 or 50 client band.

If neither fits

Scraler is a single client app covering workouts, nutrition, check-ins, habits and chat from the entry plan, and it never bills for a client once you archive them. Premium folds Stripe payments into the same price, no separate percentage, and throws in AI generation and a client community.

Ultimate is the tier that adds a white-label app, iOS through your own Apple Developer account and Android through Scraler's Google Play Console, at no extra cost either way. Starting the trial takes a card, but the account is only charged if it is still open once the trial ends. Scraler is newer and smaller than either Everfit or TrueCoach, worth weighing against everything bundled in. See pricing or Best Apps for Personal Trainers.

Workouts, nutrition and payments in one app

One branded client app handles workouts, nutrition, check-ins and messaging, payments join from Premium and the white-label option opens up on Ultimate, and an archived client never eats into the cap. Trying it costs nothing for 14 days, though a card is needed to start, and the account is billed only if you keep it past that point.
