Why do coaches look for a Trainerize alternative?
Trainerize earns its size. Its AI Workout Builder, MyFitnessPal-synced meal planner and weekly progress summaries are mature. Coaches who look elsewhere are usually reacting to one cost, not the product itself.
- Price at scale. Pro is billed by client seats: $25/month at 5 clients, $225/month at 100, $250/month at 200.
- Payments are an add-on. Stripe payments cost an extra $10/month on Grow and Pro, on top of the plan price.
- The branded app is not fully your own on Pro. For $169 one-time, clients find it inside Trainerize's shared Apple listing, though it gets its own Google Play listing. An independent listing on both stores needs Studio, from $275/month.
None of that makes Trainerize a bad choice. It means the right alternative depends on which of those three costs money or clients for you.
Everfit: a free tier and a lower entry price
- Cheapest plan
- Free (Starter)
- Clients included
- 5
- Payments
- From $9/mo add-on
- Branded app
- Enterprise only (500+ clients)
Everfit keeps a forever-free Starter plan, more generous than Trainerize's single-client Basic. Paid tiers climb steeply as the roster grows, adding an AI Workout Builder, a large exercise video library and habit coaching for check-ins along the way.
A full meal-plan module and Payments both cost extra on top of the plan price. A true white-label app needs an Enterprise quote, with a stricter client minimum than Trainerize's own Studio tier.
- Meal plans cost from $39/month extra
- Payments and packages cost from $9/month extra
- White label needs an Enterprise quote with a 500-client minimum
- Free forever for up to 5 clients
- Cheaper entry point than Trainerize Pro at the same client count
- 30 day trial on paid plans, no card required
TrueCoach: a branded app included, one flat payment fee
- Cheapest plan
- $29.98/mo (Starter)
- Clients included
- 5
- Payments
- 5% flat (invoice total)
- Branded app
- Included from Standard
TrueCoach is built for strength, bodybuilding, CrossFit and physical therapy coaching. Standard and Pro scale with client count before pricing above that moves to support only, and its trial runs shorter than Trainerize's, with no card required.
TrueCoach Payments only works in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and takes a flat cut of the invoice total including tax. Meal plans are documents with macros tracked via MyFitnessPal, not a true meal-plan builder.
- Payments cost a flat 5 percent of the invoice including tax
- TrueCoach Payments only works in the US, UK, Canada and Australia
- No published pricing above 50 clients
- Branded app included from Standard, no separate fee or shared listing
- Drag-and-drop builder with a 3,500+ exercise video library
- Habit tracking and progress photos on every plan
My PT Hub: unlimited clients for one flat price
- Cheapest plan
- EUR 25/mo (Starter)
- Clients included
- 3
- Payments
- Not published; confirm directly
- Branded app
- EUR 95 one-time; EUR 145/mo listing
My PT Hub prices everything in euros rather than dollars, and its entry tier is tightly capped on clients, workouts and nutrition plans. Premium removes those caps entirely and adds an AI workout builder, group bookings and automated check-ins, with no card needed for the trial.
The AI builder and automated check-ins unlock only at Premium, and a fully white-labelled listing costs extra on top of that plan. The exercise library and food database are both large, with barcode scanning included.
- A white-label listing costs EUR 145/month on top of Premium
- The AI builder and automated check-ins only unlock at Premium
- Priced in EUR by default
- Premium removes every client, workout and plan cap for one flat price
- 8,000+ exercise videos and a 650,000+ item food database
- Branded app as a EUR 95 one-time add-on, cheaper than Trainerize's $169
Kahunas: unlimited clients and a branded app on one plan
- Cheapest plan
- $35/mo (Essentials)
- Clients included
- 25
- Payments
- Stripe/PayPal, no commission
- Branded app
- Ultimate only ($99/mo)
Kahunas keeps three tiers, climbing from Essentials through Growth before Ultimate removes the client cap altogether. Its trial window is shorter than most on this list. Our Trainerize vs Kahunas comparison puts the two side by side.
Every tier includes custom check-in forms, habit tracking and messaging with voice notes. It has no MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre.
- The branded app is Ultimate-only and still needs your own developer accounts
- No MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre
- The trial is 14 days, half of Trainerize's
- Ultimate covers unlimited clients for a flat $99/month
- Your own iOS and Android listings on Ultimate
- Stripe and PayPal with no platform commission
FitBudd: the lowest entry price, white label further up
- Cheapest plan
- $15/mo (Starter)
- Clients included
- 2 (+$4/extra)
- Payments
- Not stated on site
- Branded app
- Super Pro $149/mo + $75 setup
FitBudd's entry tier charges per extra client on top of the base price. Pro adds custom theming and 1:1 video calling for a higher per-seat rate, with a trial as long as Trainerize's and no card required.
Nutrition includes a large food library with barcode scanning, useful alongside a macro calculator for setting daily targets, more generous than Trainerize discloses. Every plan charges per extra client though, so a full roster can end up costing more than Trainerize at the same size.
- A white-labelled app needs Super Pro plus a $75 setup fee
- Every plan charges per extra client, which can overtake Trainerize at scale
- Several features are sold as separate add-ons
- Lowest entry price in this comparison at $15/month
- A 1 million+ food library with barcode scanning
- 30 day trial with no card required
Scraler: workouts, nutrition and check-ins in one app
- Cheapest plan
- $49/mo (Plus)
- Clients included
- 50 active
- Payments
- Stripe, from Premium ($69/mo)
- Branded app
- Ultimate only, from $109/mo
Scraler is coaching software with a dashboard for the coach and an app for the client, bundling workout planning, meal plans, nutrition tracking (a TDEE calculator is a common starting point), check-ins, habit tracking, chat and scheduling in one entry plan, with archived clients excluded from the cap.
Premium raises the client cap and folds in AI generation, community and Stripe payments under one price. Ultimate then scales further, adding a white-label app, custom domain and studio management, though iOS still needs the trainer's own Apple Developer account.
- The white-label app is Ultimate-only, a higher bar than TrueCoach's or Kahunas's
- The trial needs a card, unlike Trainerize's
- Newer and smaller than Trainerize
- Workouts, nutrition, check-ins, habits and chat included from the entry plan
- Archived clients do not count against the plan cap
- Android white-label publishing costs the trainer nothing at Google
How do you migrate off Trainerize?
Export what you can from Trainerize first, client contacts, active programmes and nutrition plans, since most platforms expect you to rebuild rather than import automatically. Start with your highest-value templates so active clients notice the least disruption.
Scraler's switch page is a free service that rebuilds clients, workouts and meal plans from a Trainerize export. If you are still deciding, the Trainerize pricing breakdown and the best apps for personal trainers guide cover the same ground from a different angle. What changed after the acquisition is covered in ABC Trainerize.
Workouts, nutrition, check-ins, messaging and progress in one client app, with payments from Premium and a white-label app on Ultimate. Fourteen days free, card on file, nothing charged unless you stay past the trial.

- What is the best alternative to Trainerize?
- It depends on which Trainerize cost affects you most. Kahunas and My PT Hub offer unlimited clients for a flat fee, TrueCoach includes a branded app from its second plan free, and Scraler bundles workouts, nutrition, check-ins and payments in one app.
- Is there a free alternative to Trainerize?
- Everfit keeps a forever-free Starter plan for up to 5 clients, more generous than Trainerize's own 1-client Basic plan. Beyond those caps, every alternative here is paid.
- Which alternatives include a branded app without an extra fee?
- TrueCoach includes one from Standard at no extra fee. Kahunas and FitBudd both charge for it on a higher tier; Scraler's is Ultimate only.
- Do these alternatives charge extra for payments, like Trainerize does?
- Most do in some form. TrueCoach charges a flat 5 percent per transaction. Kahunas and FitBudd state no platform commission on top of Stripe or PayPal fees. Scraler includes payments through Stripe from Premium rather than as an add-on.
- What happens to my clients and programmes if I leave Trainerize?
