Why do coaches look for a FitBudd alternative?

FitBudd earns its low entry price with a genuinely large nutrition side: a 1 million-plus food library with barcode scanning, water intake and habit tracking, and a 30 day trial with no card required. Coaches who look elsewhere are usually reacting to what happens once a roster grows past the plan's included client count.

  • Every plan except Elite charges per extra client. Starter adds $4 per client above 2; Pro and Super Pro both add $2 per client above 20.
  • A fully white-labelled app is Super Pro only. $149/month plus a one-time $75 setup fee, higher than several rivals that include a branded app free or cheaper.
  • No MyFitnessPal integration found on official pages, unlike Trainerize, TrueCoach and My PT Hub.
  • No published fee schedule for payments. FitBudd shows Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal and Apple Pay on its homepage and says paid plans carry no extra processing fee, but does not publish a rate.

None of that makes FitBudd a bad choice for a small, stable roster. It means the right alternative depends on whether your client count is growing, whether you need a branded app without a setup fee, or whether payments and workouts need to live in the same platform as nutrition.

Trainerize: the largest platform, priced by client seats

Cheapest plan
$10/mo (Grow)
Clients included
2
Payments
$10/mo add-on (Grow, Pro)
Branded app
$169 one-time (Pro); own listing needs Studio, $275/mo
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Trainerize pricing page, monthly view.

Trainerize scales by client seats rather than a per-client add-on: Pro moves from $25/month at 5 clients to $250/month at 200. That's a different shape to FitBudd's base-plus-per-client model, and it's worth running your own roster through both before assuming either is cheaper.

Both apps offer an AI workout builder and barcode food logging, but Trainerize adds a Smart Meal Planner, meal photo logging and a MyFitnessPal sync; FitBudd lists no MyFitnessPal link. A branded app costs $169 one-time on Pro but shares Trainerize's own Apple listing; your own store listing on both platforms needs Studio, from $275/month. Full tiers are in the Trainerize pricing breakdown, and the Trainerize alternatives guide covers the wider field.

Cons
  • Pro pricing scales by client seats, up to $250/month at 200 clients
  • Stripe payments cost an extra $10/month on Grow and Pro
  • Your own app store listing needs Studio, from $275/month
Pros
  • Smart Meal Planner plus MyFitnessPal sync, which FitBudd does not list
  • 30 day trial with unlimited clients, no card required
  • 400,000-plus coaches on the platform, the largest name in this comparison

Kahunas: unlimited clients, no per-client charge

Cheapest plan
$35/mo (Essentials)
Clients included
25
Payments
Stripe/PayPal, no commission
Branded app
Ultimate only, $99/mo, no extra fee
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Kahunas pricing page, monthly view.

Kahunas Ultimate is the clearest answer to FitBudd's per-client math: $99/month, unlimited clients, and your own iOS and Android store listings at no extra fee, versus FitBudd's Super Pro at $149/month plus a $75 setup charge for a branded app.

Its food database is a similar size to FitBudd's, stated at 1.6 to 1.8 million items depending on which official page you read, but it shares the same gap: no MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre. The trial is 14 days, less than half of FitBudd's 30. See Kahunas pricing for every tier, or the Kahunas alternatives guide for the wider field.

Cons
  • The trial is 14 days, well short of FitBudd's 30
  • No MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre, the same gap as FitBudd
  • Exercise and food library counts differ between its own pages
Pros
  • Ultimate covers unlimited clients for a flat $99/month, no per-client add-on
  • Your own iOS and Android store listings included at that price, no setup fee
  • Stripe and PayPal with no platform commission stated

My PT Hub: every cap removed on Premium, for one price

Cheapest plan
EUR 25/mo (Starter)
Clients included
3
Payments
Included; processor not disclosed
Branded app
EUR 95 one-time; EUR 145/mo white label
A 22 September 2026 capture of the My PT Hub pricing page, monthly view.

My PT Hub prices in euros rather than dollars, and Starter is capped tightly on clients, workouts and nutrition plans. Premium removes every one of those caps for one flat EUR 59/month, no per-client charge, with an AI workout builder and automated check-ins added in.

Its food database of 650,000-plus items syncs with MyFitnessPal, Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit; FitBudd lists Apple Watch and Fitbit but no MyFitnessPal. A white-label store listing costs EUR 145/month on top of Premium, EUR 204/month in total, while the EUR 95 one-time Custom Branded App puts your icon and branding on the app without your own store listing. Full detail is in the My PT Hub pricing breakdown, My PT Hub vs Trainerize compares the two directly, and the My PT Hub alternatives guide covers the wider field.

Cons
  • Priced in EUR by default
  • A white-label store listing costs EUR 145/month on top of Premium
  • The AI builder and automated check-ins only unlock at Premium
Pros
  • Premium removes every client, workout and plan cap for one flat price, no per-client add-on
  • Syncs with MyFitnessPal, Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit; FitBudd lists no MyFitnessPal link
  • 30 day trial, no card details required, the same length as FitBudd's

TrueCoach: a branded app included, no setup fee

Cheapest plan
$29.98/mo (Starter)
Clients included
5
Payments
5% flat (US, UK, Canada, Australia)
Branded app
Included from Standard, no fee
A 22 September 2026 capture of the TrueCoach pricing page, monthly view.

TrueCoach includes its Custom-Branded Fitness App from Standard, its second plan, with no separate fee and no setup charge, a straightforward answer to FitBudd's $149/month plus $75 setup for the same thing on Super Pro.

Its nutrition side is thinner than FitBudd's: meal plans are documents, with macros tracked through a MyFitnessPal sync rather than a built-in food library. TrueCoach Payments only works in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and takes a flat 5 percent of the invoice total including tax, where FitBudd states no extra processing fee but does not publish a rate. See TrueCoach pricing for the annual figures, TrueCoach vs Trainerize for a direct comparison, or the wider TrueCoach alternatives list.

Cons
  • Payments cost a flat 5 percent of the invoice including tax, and only work in four countries
  • Nutrition is document-based, not a dedicated food library like FitBudd's
  • The trial is 14 days, less than half of FitBudd's 30
Pros
  • Branded app included from Standard, no separate fee or setup charge
  • 3,500-plus exercise video library with drag-and-drop building
  • Custom habits, progress photos and body metrics tracking

Hevy Coach: flat client bands, no per-client math

Cheapest plan
$25/mo (1 to 10 clients)
Clients included
10
Payments
No client billing found
Branded app
None found; team name and logo
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Hevy Coach pricing page, monthly billing.

Hevy Coach replaces FitBudd's per-client charge with nine flat bands, from $25/month for up to 10 clients to $700/month for up to 1,000, monthly billing only. There is no per-client rate to add on top once you know your roster size.

It is built on the consumer Hevy app and leans heavily toward workout tracking: no dedicated nutrition feature is published, a real gap next to FitBudd's 1 million-plus food library. No white-label app or client-facing billing appears on its official pages; clients pay nothing to Hevy Coach, and coach subscriptions are processed through Paddle. See Hevy Coach pricing for every band, or the Hevy Coach alternatives guide for the wider field.

Cons
  • No nutrition features found on official pages, unlike FitBudd's food library and macro tracking
  • No white-label app found on official pages
  • No client-facing payments or billing feature found
Pros
  • Flat client-count bands, no per-client add-on to calculate
  • 30 day trial, no card required, the same length as FitBudd's
  • Team name and logo included at no extra cost

Scraler: workouts, nutrition and check-ins, no per-client add-on

Cheapest plan
$49/mo (Plus)
Clients included
50 active
Payments
Stripe, from Premium ($69/mo)
Branded app
Ultimate only, from $109/mo

Scraler is coaching software with a dashboard for the coach and an app for the client, bundling workout planning, meal plans, nutrition tracking, check-ins and habit tracking in one entry plan for $49/month, up to 50 active clients, with no per-client add-on and archived clients excluded from that count.

Premium raises the cap to 100 and folds in Stripe payments and AI generation at $69/month. Ultimate then adds a white-label app from $109/month; iOS still needs the trainer's own Apple Developer account, but Android publishes under Scraler's own Google Play account at no cost to the trainer, unlike FitBudd's Super Pro, which needs both developer accounts on top of the $149/month plus $75 setup fee.

Cons
  • The white-label app is Ultimate-only, where TrueCoach includes one from Standard at $69.98/month
  • The trial needs a card, unlike FitBudd's 30 day no-card trial
  • Newer and smaller than Trainerize
Pros
  • Workouts, nutrition, check-ins and habit tracking bundled from the entry plan, no per-client add-on
  • Archived clients do not count against the plan cap
  • Android white-label publishing costs the trainer nothing at Google, unlike FitBudd's own developer-account requirement

How do you migrate off FitBudd?

Export what you can from FitBudd first: client contacts, active programmes and nutrition plans. Most platforms in this category expect you to rebuild rather than import automatically, so start with your highest-value templates to keep disruption low for active clients.

Scraler's switch page is a free service that rebuilds clients, workouts and meal plans from an export; it names Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit and My PT Hub directly. If you are still deciding, FitBudd pricing breaks down the per-client math in full, and the online coaching platforms hub compares the wider field, alongside the best apps for personal trainers roundup.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to FitBudd?
It depends on which FitBudd cost affects you most. Kahunas Ultimate and My PT Hub Premium remove the per-client charge for a flat fee, TrueCoach includes a branded app free from its second plan, and Scraler bundles workouts, nutrition and check-ins with no per-client add-on.
Are there apps like FitBudd that don't charge per client?
Yes. Kahunas Ultimate ($99/month) and My PT Hub Premium (EUR 59/month) both cover unlimited clients for one flat price. Hevy Coach uses flat client-count bands instead of a per-client rate. Scraler's plans are priced by active client caps with no per-client charge on top.
Is there a cheaper FitBudd competitor for a small roster?
Trainerize Grow is $10/month for 2 clients, against FitBudd Starter's $15/month for the same count. Grow stops at 2 clients, so at 5 clients the comparison is Trainerize Pro at $25/month against FitBudd Starter at $27 ($15 plus 3 extra clients at $4).
Which FitBudd alternatives include a branded app without a setup fee?
TrueCoach includes one from Standard at no extra fee. Kahunas includes its own store listings on Ultimate for the $99/month plan price, also with no separate fee. FitBudd's equivalent, Super Pro, costs $149/month plus a $75 one-time setup charge.
Does FitBudd have MyFitnessPal integration like some alternatives?
No MyFitnessPal integration is stated on FitBudd's official pages. Trainerize, TrueCoach and My PT Hub all offer it; My PT Hub also syncs with Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit.
What happens to my clients and programmes if I leave FitBudd?
Expect to export client contacts and plans and rebuild them on the new platform, as most coaching apps do not import automatically. Scraler's free switch page is a service where the team rebuilds clients, workouts and meal plans from your exports.
