Why do coaches look for a CoachRx alternative?

OPEX CoachRx is built for detailed programme design, with macro, meso and micro cycle tools, a 2,000+ video exercise library and 60+ programme templates. Coaches who look elsewhere are usually reacting to one of three things: the band pricing cliffs, the Enterprise rate missing from the pricing page, or the lack of an independently listed app.

  • Band pricing has a sharp cliff. A 5-client roster costs $29/month; add one more client and the price jumps to $79/month for the 6 to 50 band.
  • Enterprise pricing is not on the pricing page. Above 150 clients, the pricing page reads "Contact support for Enterprise pricing" with no number shown; the actual rate, from $249/month plus $1.25 per client above 150, sits in a help centre article instead.
  • No independently listed app. Custom theming inside the shared CoachRx app is included on every band, but CoachRx's official pages describe no white-label option with your own App Store and Google Play listing.

None of that makes CoachRx a poor fit for rehab or strength coaching. It means the right alternative depends on which of those three, the cliff, the unlisted rate or the listed app, actually affects your business. The CoachRx pricing breakdown covers each band in detail, and the online coaching platforms hub compares the wider field.

TrueCoach: a branded app included, built for the same strength and rehab audience

Cheapest plan
$29.98/mo (Starter)
Clients included
5
Payments
5% flat (invoice total)
Branded app
Included from Standard
A 22 September 2026 capture of the TrueCoach pricing page, monthly view.

TrueCoach overlaps with CoachRx's audience of strength coaches and physical therapists, built around a drag-and-drop workout builder and a 3,500+ exercise video library. Starter, Standard and Pro cover 5, 20 and 50 clients, above 50 you ask support for special pricing, and the 14 day trial needs no card, a detail CoachRx's own page leaves unstated. See TrueCoach pricing for the annual figures.

TrueCoach Payments takes a flat 5 percent of the invoice total including tax, and TrueCoach adds no fee of its own on top. CoachRx's US example works out at 4.9 percent plus $0.30 per transaction, so the two land close together. Meal plans are delivered as documents with macros tracked through MyFitnessPal, a lighter nutrition layer than CoachRx's macro calculator and nutrition programming with compliance tracking. See TrueCoach vs Trainerize for a direct comparison, or the wider TrueCoach alternatives list.

Cons
  • Payments cost a flat 5 percent of the invoice including tax
  • No published pricing above 50 clients
  • Meal plans are documents, with macros tracked through MyFitnessPal
Pros
  • Custom-Branded Fitness App included from Standard, no extra fee listed
  • 14 day trial confirmed no card required
  • Wearable integrations include Apple, Garmin and WHOOP

Trainerize: the largest platform, with an AI workout builder

Cheapest plan
$25/mo (Pro)
Clients included
5
Payments
$10/mo add-on (Stripe)
Branded app
$169 one-time (Pro), shared listing
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Trainerize pricing page, monthly view.

Trainerize is the largest platform in this category, with an AI Workout Builder, a Smart Meal Planner and food logging by photo, barcode or search. Pro scales by client seats from $25/month at 5 clients to $135/month at 50, and its 30 day trial needs no card, unlike CoachRx's page, which doesn't say either way.

A branded app on Pro costs $169 one-time, but it sits inside Trainerize's own shared Apple listing, close to CoachRx's in-app-only theming. An independently listed app on both stores needs Studio Plus at $275/month. Payments need a further $10/month Stripe add-on on top of the plan price. The Trainerize pricing page has every seat tier, and the Trainerize alternatives guide covers the wider field.

Cons
  • Pro scales by client seats, rising to $135/month at 50 clients
  • Payments cost a further $10/month on top of the plan
  • An independently listed app needs Studio Plus at $275/month
Pros
  • AI Workout Builder plus a Smart Meal Planner and in-app food logging
  • 30 day trial, no card required
  • Own Google Play listing on Pro, before Studio Plus

Kahunas: unlimited clients and your own app listings

Cheapest plan
$35/mo (Essentials)
Clients included
25
Payments
Stripe/PayPal, no commission
Branded app
Ultimate only ($99/mo)
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Kahunas pricing page, monthly view.

Kahunas Ultimate removes the client cap entirely for a flat $99/month and includes the coach's own iOS and Android app store listings, a level CoachRx doesn't offer at any price. Essentials starts higher than CoachRx's entry band, $35 against $29 a month, but includes custom check-in forms and habit tracking from day one.

Kahunas has no MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre, where CoachRx syncs with MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, FatSecret, MacrosFirst and MyMacros+. The Ultimate apps also need the coach's own Apple Developer account and a Google Developer Organization account. Its 14 day trial matches CoachRx's length, though neither states whether a card is required; see Kahunas pricing, Kahunas vs Everfit, or the Kahunas alternatives guide.

Cons
  • Essentials starts higher than CoachRx's entry band, $35 against $29 a month
  • No MyFitnessPal integration, per its own help centre
  • Own app store listings only on Ultimate, and they need your own Apple and Google developer accounts
Pros
  • Unlimited clients on Ultimate, cheaper than CoachRx's top published band at $199
  • Stripe and PayPal with no platform commission, against CoachRx's 2 percent fee
  • Progress photo overlay comparison built in

Hevy Coach: finer pricing steps, built on the Hevy strength app

Cheapest plan
$25/mo (1 to 10 clients)
Clients included
10
Payments
Not processed (Paddle bills the coach)
Branded app
Not published
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Hevy Coach pricing page.

Hevy Coach prices in client bands too, but across nine steps from $25/month at 10 clients to $700/month at 1,000, a finer scale than CoachRx's four wide bands. Every client also gets a complimentary Hevy Pro subscription to the consumer Hevy app bundled in. Hevy Coach pricing lists every band.

Its official pages describe no nutrition module and no dedicated check-in or habit feature, both areas where CoachRx's macro calculator and customisable check-in templates go further. Hevy Coach also doesn't process client payments at all, using Paddle only to bill the coach's own subscription, so it can't replace CoachRx's Stripe storefronts. The Hevy Coach alternatives guide covers the wider field.

Cons
  • No nutrition module described on its official pages, unlike CoachRx's macro calculator
  • No dedicated check-in or habit feature described on its official pages
  • No client payment processing, so it can't replace CoachRx's Stripe storefronts
Pros
  • Nine smaller price steps, none as steep as CoachRx's $29 to $79 jump
  • Every client gets a complimentary Hevy Pro subscription bundled in
  • 30 day trial, no card required

Everfit: a free tier and an AI workout builder

Cheapest plan
Free (Starter)
Clients included
5
Payments
From $9/mo add-on
Branded app
Enterprise only (500+ clients)
A 22 September 2026 capture of the Everfit pricing page, monthly view.

Everfit keeps a genuinely free Starter plan for up to 5 clients, the same roster size as CoachRx's entry band but at no cost. Pro then scales with client count from $19/month at 5 clients to $290/month at 300, and adds an AI Workout Builder and MacroSnap AI meal-photo logging. See Everfit pricing for every step.

A full meal-plan and recipe module costs $39/month extra, and Payments needs its own $9/month add-on, both separate charges on top of the plan price rather than CoachRx's single 2 percent fee. A white-label app with its own store listings needs an Enterprise quote, which the help centre says starts at 500 clients. For direct comparisons, see Everfit vs Trainerize and Everfit vs TrueCoach, or the wider Everfit alternatives list.

Cons
  • Meal plans cost $39/month extra on top of the plan
  • Payments need a separate $9/month add-on
  • White label needs an Enterprise quote with a 500-client minimum
Pros
  • Free forever for up to 5 clients, the same size as CoachRx's entry band
  • AI Workout Builder and MacroSnap AI meal-photo logging
  • 30 day trial, no card required

Scraler: workouts, nutrition, check-ins and payments in one app

Cheapest plan
$49/mo (Plus)
Clients included
50 active
Payments
Stripe, from Premium ($69/mo)
Branded app
Ultimate only, from $109/mo

Scraler bundles workout planning, a meal plan builder, nutrition tracking, check-ins, habit tracking, chat and scheduling into one entry plan at $49/month for up to 50 active clients, ten times CoachRx's 5-client entry band. Archived clients never count against that cap.

Premium raises the cap to 100 clients and adds Stripe payments at no extra percentage, AI generation, community and a landing page builder for $69/month, close to CoachRx's $79 band for 50 clients. Ultimate then adds a white-label app, though iOS still needs the coach's own Apple Developer account, the same $99/year CoachRx avoids by staying inside its shared app.

Cons
  • Payments and AI generation both need Premium, not the entry plan
  • White-label app is Ultimate only, and iOS needs the trainer's own Apple Developer account
  • Newer and smaller than Trainerize or Everfit
Pros
  • Workouts, meal plans, nutrition tracking, check-ins, habits and chat included from the entry plan
  • Archived clients do not count against the plan cap
  • Android white-label publishing costs the trainer nothing at Google, unlike iOS's $99/year

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to CoachRx?
It depends on which CoachRx limit affects you most. Kahunas Ultimate removes the client cap and includes your own app listings, TrueCoach includes a branded app from its Standard plan with no extra fee listed, and Scraler bundles workouts, nutrition, check-ins and payments in one app.
Is there a free alternative to CoachRx?
Everfit's Starter plan is free for up to 5 clients, the same size as CoachRx's entry band. CoachRx itself has no free tier, only a 14 day trial.
What does CoachRx cost above 150 clients?
CoachRx's pricing page publishes its first three bands directly, $29, $79 and $199, but above 150 clients it asks visitors to contact support instead of showing a number. That Enterprise rate, from $249/month plus $1.25 per client above 150, comes from a separate help centre article.
Does CoachRx charge extra for payments?
Yes. CoachRx processes payments through Stripe plus a 2 percent platform fee on every band, 4.9 percent plus $0.30 per transaction in total in its US example. Kahunas charges no platform commission, TrueCoach takes a flat 5 percent that replaces the processing fee rather than adding to it, and Hevy Coach doesn't process client payments at all.
Does CoachRx offer a branded app?
CoachRx includes custom theming on every band inside its shared app, but its official pages describe no independently listed app. Kahunas Ultimate and Trainerize Studio Plus both go further, with your own App Store and Google Play listings.
What happens to my clients and programmes if I leave CoachRx?
We found no export tool described on CoachRx's pricing or features pages, so plan to pull your client list and programmes manually before switching. Scraler's switch page is a free service that rebuilds clients, workouts and meal plans from an export instead.
