Why people look for a Glofox alternative
Glofox's pricing page asks for your business type, then your number of locations, then your contact details, and still names no number. The plans page behind it lays out Essential, Boost and Elite as feature lists with no price on any card. Add-ons such as a custom branded app are named but not priced either.
That leaves a buyer unable to compare Glofox with anything until a sales call. Every vendor below publishes at least one real figure. Our gym software cost calculator lines them up at your own member count.
Mindbody: the Glofox vs Mindbody question
- Starter
- $79/month per location, on a separate pricing explainer
- Accelerate / Ultimate
- Contact for pricing
- App booking commission
- 20% on consumer app referrals, capped at $30
- Best for
- Multi-location gyms and franchises
Mindbody is the vendor most often weighed against Glofox, and on transparency it edges ahead by one figure. Mindbody prices Starter at $79 a month per location on an explainer article, while its main pricing page shows "Let's talk" on all three tiers. Accelerate and Ultimate have no published price, so a larger gym ends up in the same sales conversation Glofox asks for.
Per-location pricing means a second site doubles the base cost. Bookings that come through the Mindbody consumer app carry a 20% referral commission capped at $30, which is worth modelling if you expect the marketplace to send you new clients. See the Mindbody alternatives page for the wider picture.
Zen Planner
- Studio
- $99 (0 to 45 members) up to $289 (251+) per month
- Essentials / Ultimate
- Studio price plus $99, or plus $249, at every band
- Add-ons
- Branded app $39/month, card reader $39/month
- Payments
- Zen Planner Payments, listed as custom pricing
Zen Planner publishes its whole ladder, just not on the main pricing page: the active member tiers page runs Studio from $99 at up to 45 members through $133, $155, $189, $229, $239 and $269 to $289 at 251 and above. Essentials sits $99 above Studio at every band and Ultimate $249 above, so Ultimate at 251 members is $538 a month.
It suits martial arts and fitness studios that want belt and skill tracking next to billing and payroll. The gap is processing: Zen Planner Payments has no published rate. More options are on the Zen Planner alternatives page.
Gymdesk
- Micro / Small Gym
- $75 (up to 50), $100 (51 to 100) per month
- Medium / Large Gym
- $150 (101 to 200), $200 (201 to 400) per month
- Enterprise
- Above 400 members, contact sales
- Setup fee
- $0, month to month billing
Of all the apps like Glofox, Gymdesk is the plainest about cost. Each of its four gym plans has a price and a member bracket, billing is month to month, and every plan carries the same features, so size is the only thing that moves the bill.
The extras are priced too. Door access (in beta) is $100 a month for up to three doors plus $29 per extra door, with hardware quoted separately. A branded member app is $100 a month with the first month free, and each extra location is $50 a month. The one unpublished number is the card processing rate. See the Gymdesk alternatives page for other options in this range.
TeamUp
- Price
- $189/month at 101 to 200 active customers (page default)
- Model
- One plan, priced by active customers on a slider
- On the plan
- Point of sale and access control
- Branded app
- $99/month add-on
TeamUp sells one plan rather than good, better and best tiers, and the price follows your active customer count on a slider. The 101 to 200 bracket shows $189 a month by default; the other brackets only appear once you move the slider. Prices switch by currency, with USD, GBP, EUR, AUD and CAD on offer.
Its strongest point against Glofox is that point of sale and access control are listed on the plan itself rather than sold as add-ons. A custom branded app costs $99 a month on top. See the TeamUp alternatives page if TeamUp is also on your shortlist.
Wodify
- Essentials
- From $199/month per location; $99 offer for demos booked by 31 October
- Accelerate / Ultimate
- Not published, "Get Started" button only
- Clients and staff
- Unlimited on every tier
- Card processing
- As low as 2.6% + $0.25
Wodify prices by location, not headcount, and lists unlimited clients and employees on every tier. Essentials shows a regular $199 a month per location, cut to $99 for life for anyone who books a demo by 31 October, so check whether that offer still runs before you budget on it.
The two tiers above Essentials carry no figure. It is built for CrossFit affiliates and functional fitness boxes running WOD-based classes, with Wodify Perform tracking on Ultimate. More on the Wodify alternatives page.
PushPress
- Free / Pro / Max
- $0, $159, $229 per month
- Limits
- Unlimited members on every tier
- Card processing
- Free 4.99%, Pro 2.89%, Max 2.75%, each + $0.30
- Add-ons
- PushPress Train from $79/month, branded app $81 to $97/month
PushPress is the only vendor here with a real free plan rather than a trial. Free, Pro and Max all allow unlimited members, so the monthly fee does not rise as you grow.
The free plan is paid for in card fees: 4.99% plus $0.30 a transaction, against 2.89% on Pro and 2.75% on Max. ACH drops from 2.89% on Free to 0.79% on Pro and Max. All figures are in US dollars; other markets are asked to contact sales.
Scraler
- Plus
- $49/month, 50 active clients, workout and meal plan builders, branded subdomain
- Premium
- $69/month, 100 active clients, adds Stripe payments, AI generation, community, landing page builder
- Ultimate
- From $109/month at 100 clients, $199 to $499 up to 500; adds white-label app, custom domain, automations, studio and team management
- Trial
- 14 days on every plan, card required, not charged until it ends
Scraler is coaching software, not a gym management system. It has no access control, membership cards, kiosk check-in, turnstiles or point of sale, so it does not replace Glofox for a facility that controls who comes through the door.
Where it fits is a coaching-led studio: workout and nutrition programming, check-ins, classes and events that take bookings with a set capacity, and Stripe payments from Premium. Staff management, multiple locations and a white-label app in the App Store and Google Play come with Ultimate. Archived clients do not count towards the cap. The gym management software guide covers where the two categories split.
Where a gym management system beats Scraler
- Door access, membership cards or turnstiles, none of which Scraler has
- A front-desk point of sale for retail and walk-in payments
- Kiosk check-in for a facility with drop-in traffic
- AI workout and meal plan generation on Premium and above
- Nutrition coaching, meal plans and food tracking in the same app as training
- Your own white-label iOS and Android app on Ultimate
If members badge in unsupervised or buy drinks and kit at a desk, stay with Glofox or pick a gym system that publishes those features, such as TeamUp or Gymdesk. If your studio runs on coached sessions and client programming, a coaching platform covers more of the day. Scraler's free switch service rebuilds clients, workouts and meal plans from an export.
Plus is $49/month for 50 active clients, Premium is $69/month for 100. Try it free for 14 days: a card is required, and nothing is charged until the trial ends.
View pricingFrequently asked questions
- How much does Glofox cost per month?
- Glofox does not say. Its pricing page is a three step form asking for business type, locations and contact details, and no figure appears in any currency before or after it. Its Essential, Boost and Elite tiers are shown as feature lists only.
- What is the best Glofox alternative?
- It depends on the business. Gymdesk publishes the clearest ladder, $75 to $200 a month by member count. PushPress has a genuine free tier. TeamUp lists POS and access control on its plan. Scraler suits a coaching-led studio rather than a facility that needs door access or a till.
- Glofox vs Mindbody: which publishes more pricing?
- Mindbody, by one figure. It prices Starter at $79 a month per location on a pricing explainer, while Accelerate and Ultimate are contact for pricing. Glofox publishes no price for any tier.
- Which Glofox competitor has a free plan?
- PushPress. Its Free tier is $0 a month with unlimited members, charging 4.99% plus $0.30 on card payments, before Pro at $159 and Max at $229.
- Is Scraler a Glofox alternative?
- Only for coaching-led studios. Scraler has no access control, kiosk check-in or point of sale, so a gym that needs those is better served by Glofox or another gym system. Scraler covers programming, nutrition, class booking and payments, from $49 a month, with staff and multi-location management on Ultimate from $109.
- What does Scraler cost compared with these alternatives?
- Plus is $49 a month for 50 active clients and Premium $69 for 100. Ultimate starts at $109 for 100 clients and rises to $199, $299, $399 and $499 up to 500. All of them are published prices, not a quote form.
