What the headline plan price leaves out, across this category. Figures from the 25 September 2026 read, unchanged on the 28 September recheck.

Why look past Zen Planner on price at all

Zen Planner's Studio plan runs $99 a month up to 45 active members, climbing through eight published bands to $289 a month at 251 and above. Essentials costs exactly $99 a month more than Studio at every band and Ultimate exactly $249 more, so the same 45-member studio pays $198 a month on Essentials or $348 on Ultimate. No annual price or toggle appears anywhere, and the FAQ only says an annual contract is "available on request" with no discount shown.

Zen Planner Payments, its own processing product, is listed simply as "Custom pricing", with no rate published. Our gym software cost calculator lines up what all eight vendors publish at your member count.

Gymdesk

Micro / Small / Medium / Large
$75 (up to 50), $100 (51 to 100), $150 (101 to 200), $200 (201 to 400) per month
Enterprise
400+ members, price not published
Setup fee
$0, stated on the page
Billing
Month to month, stated on the page

Gymdesk is the most transparent vendor in this comparison: every tier is a published price against a published member bracket, on the pricing page itself, no separate page or slider to find. Add-ons are published too: door access at $100/month for up to three doors plus $29/month per extra door, and a branded app add-on at $100/month with the first month free. Processing percentage is not published.

Where Zen Planner's Studio plan scales in eight bands from $99 to $289, Gymdesk scales in four from $75 to $200 and covers up to 400 members. It costs less than Zen Planner Studio at every band both publish, $75 against $99 at 45 members and $150 against $229 at 150. More at Gymdesk alternatives.

PushPress

Free / Pro / Max
$0, $159, $229 per month
Limits
Unlimited members, leads, admins and staff on every tier
Processing (Free to Max)
4.99% + $0.30 card down to 2.75% + $0.30 card
ACH
2.89% + $0.30 on Free, 0.79% + $0.30 on Pro and Max

PushPress is the only vendor here with a genuinely free tier rather than a trial: Free costs $0/month with no member cap, at the cost of the highest card processing rate of the three. Where Zen Planner has no equivalent to that at any band, PushPress lets a small studio start at nothing and pay in card fees instead. Pricing shown is US dollars only, and the page states no annual/monthly toggle.

TeamUp

Price
$189/month at the 101 to 200 active customer bracket (page default)
Model
One usage-based plan on a slider, not good/better/best tiers
Branded app add-on
$99/month on top of the core plan
Included
Access control and point of sale listed on the plan

TeamUp prices a single plan against an interactive slider with brackets from under 100 up to 501-plus active customers, in USD, GBP, EUR, AUD or CAD. Only the 101 to 200 figure, $189/month, renders without touching the slider, so the rest of the ladder could not be re-verified on this pass; the 25 September read of the slider put it at $119 under 100 up to $379 at 501 plus. Unlike Zen Planner, access control and point of sale are listed on the plan itself rather than left unpublished, which matters for a facility with a staffed or unstaffed door. See TeamUp alternatives for more.

Wodify

Essentials
$99/month per location, offer price against a struck-through $199
Accelerate / Ultimate
Not published, "Get Started" button only
Processing
Card as low as 2.6% + $0.25
Onboarding fee
Exists per the FAQ, amount not published

Wodify's $99/month Essentials figure is tied to a "book a demo by 31 October" deadline and framed as a cut from a regular $199, so check it still holds at the time of reading. Accelerate and Ultimate show no figure anywhere, only a "Get Started" button. Pricing is per location rather than per member, and every tier lists unlimited clients and employees, so the fee does not climb with members the way Zen Planner's bands do. More at Wodify alternatives.

Mindbody

Starter
$79/month per location, on a pricing explainer page rather than the pricing page
Accelerate / Ultimate
Not published, "Let's talk" button
Member or location limits
Not published for Starter
Best for
Large multi-location gyms and franchises

Mindbody's pricing page names Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate and shows a "Let's talk" button on all three, though Starter is stated as $79 a month per location on a separate pricing explainer. It does publish a 20 percent commission on bookings through the Mindbody consumer app, capped at $30 per booking. Where Zen Planner's ladder covers every band it sells, Mindbody publishes one figure and asks for a sales call on the rest. See Mindbody alternatives for a fuller comparison of that vendor specifically.

Glofox

Price
Not published at any size
Plans
Essential, Boost, Elite, Enterprise (custom)
Pricing page
A three-step form: business type, locations, then contact details
Best for
Larger gyms and franchises wanting a branded app

Glofox's pricing page carries no figure in any currency, before or after its three-step form. A custom branded app is listed as an add-on with no price attached. Of the seven vendors in this comparison, Glofox is the only one that publishes nothing at all, where even Zen Planner's harder-to-find ladder is a complete, exact grid once found. See Glofox alternatives for more.

Scraler

Plus
$49/month, 50 clients, builders and a branded subdomain
Premium
$69/month, 100 clients, adds Stripe payments, AI generation, community, landing page builder
Ultimate
From $109/month at 100 clients, scaling to $199/$299/$399/$499 up to 500
Trial
14 days, a card is required but nothing is charged until the trial ends

Scraler is not a gym management system, and it is worth being direct about that. There is no access control, membership cards, kiosk check-in, turnstiles or point of sale. What it has is studio and staff management, multiple locations, classes with a set capacity and public booking, Stripe payments from Premium, and a white-label app on Ultimate, where the iOS build runs under the studio's own Apple Developer account and the Android build under Scraler's Google Play Console at no extra cost to the studio.

That fits a coaching-led studio running programming and client relationships, not a facility that needs a member to badge through a door. For that job, see the gym management software guide instead.

Where a gym management system beats Scraler

A gym management system wins here
  • Access control, membership cards or turnstile entry, none of which Scraler has
  • A front-desk point of sale for retail and walk-in payments
  • Kiosk check-in for a facility with drop-in traffic
  • Belt and skill tracking, which Zen Planner offers alongside billing and payroll
Scraler wins here
  • AI-assisted workout and nutrition programming on Premium and above
  • Public class booking with capacity built into the same platform as coaching
  • A white-label iOS and Android app on Ultimate, not a shared listing
  • Meal plans, recipes and nutrition tracking in the same app as training, from Plus

A martial arts or CrossFit studio that wants belt tracking, payroll and billing in one system, priced to its own member count without a sales call, is exactly what Zen Planner is built for, and it is a genuinely strong fit for that. A studio with no doors to badge through and no counter to staff is where Scraler fits instead. Gymdesk sells door access as a $100/month add-on and TeamUp lists point of sale and access control on its single plan, both closer substitutes for Zen Planner's own feature set than Scraler is.

Moving off Zen Planner

A studio leaving Zen Planner for a coaching-led setup, rather than another gym system, brings over clients, workout templates and meal plans rather than membership billing history, since Scraler does not run door access or point of sale to begin with. The switch page covers what the Scraler team rebuilds from an export and what stays behind. A studio that still needs access control, membership cards or a till should move to one of the six gym systems compared above instead, not to Scraler.

Plus is $49/month for 50 clients, Premium is $69/month for 100. Fourteen days free to test it, a card on file from the start, nothing charged unless the account is still open when the trial ends.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good Zen Planner alternative?
Gymdesk publishes the clearest full ladder, $75 to $200 a month by active member band, all on its own pricing page. PushPress has a genuine $0 a month free tier. TeamUp includes access control and point of sale on its single plan. Which one fits depends on whether member-count pricing, a free start, or facility features matter most.
How does Zen Planner pricing compare with Mindbody?
Zen Planner publishes a complete ladder, all three plans across eight active-member bands from $99 to $538 a month, though it sits on a separate page from its pricing page. Mindbody publishes one entry figure, $79 a month per location for Starter, and shows "Let's talk" for its other two tiers.
Is there a free Zen Planner alternative?
Not with Zen Planner's own feature set, but PushPress has a genuinely free Free tier at $0 a month with unlimited members, paid for instead through card processing fees of 4.99 percent plus $0.30 per transaction.
Zen Planner vs Wodify: which suits a CrossFit box?
Wodify is built for CrossFit affiliates and functional fitness boxes, priced per location with unlimited clients and employees: $99 a month for Essentials on the offer live when checked, $199 regular. Zen Planner prices by active members instead, $99 to $289 a month on Studio. For a martial arts school, Zen Planner's belt and skill tracking alongside billing and payroll is the stronger fit.
Is Scraler a substitute for Zen Planner?
Only for a coaching-led studio. Scraler has studio and team management, multiple locations, capacity-limited classes, public booking and Stripe payments, but no access control, membership cards, kiosk check-in, turnstiles or point of sale, all things Zen Planner and the other gym systems here provide.
What does Scraler cost compared with these alternatives?
Plus is $49 a month for 50 clients and Premium is $69 a month for 100, both published prices rather than a sales call, with Ultimate scaling from $109 a month at 100 clients up to $499 at 500.
