Stripe may ask for identity documents, business information, or banking details to verify your account.
Depending on your country and business type, Stripe may require the following:
Identity Document
A government-issued photo ID such as a passport or driver's license.
Business Information
Your business name, address, and registration number (if applicable).
Bank Account
A bank account in your name or business name for receiving payouts.
Tax Information
Tax identification number or VAT number depending on your region.
Stripe uses a secure, hosted verification flow to confirm your identity. You'll be asked to upload one of the following documents:
Passport
A valid, unexpired passport with a clear photo page.
National ID Card
A government-issued national identity card (front and back).
Driver's License
A valid driver's license with your photo and address.
Proof of Address
A utility bill or bank statement from the last 3 months.
If your verification is incomplete, Stripe may delay or pause payouts until the required information is provided.
Important: Payouts will be paused if verification is not completed within the required timeframe. Complete verification as soon as possible to avoid interruptions.
Your Stripe account verification can be in one of the following states:
All requirements met. Payouts are enabled and processing normally.
Documents submitted and under review. Payouts may still be active.
Additional information or documents needed. Check your Stripe dashboard.
Payouts are paused. Immediate action required to restore access.
